Cancel Shipping Label

Step-by-step guidance from LABL Help Center.

If you need to cancel a shipment, you can do so directly from LABL. Each carrier has different rules — canceling a USPS label works very differently from FedEx. Read the carrier-specific sections below before requesting a cancellation.

Important: Labels are not automatically canceled. You must request cancellation explicitly through LABL. Unused labels that are not canceled may still be charged.

How to Cancel a Label in LABL

Go to Shipments
From your LABL dashboard, navigate to Shipments.
Locate the Shipment
Search by order number, tracking number, or recipient name.
Request Cancellation
Click the shipment, then select "Cancel Label" or "Request Refund". LABL submits the cancellation request to the carrier automatically.

Carrier-Specific Policies

USPS

Refund available
  • Window: Must be purchased within the last 28 days
  • Condition: Label must not have moved past "Accepted" on a USPS SCAN form
  • Timeline: USPS typically approves refunds within 21 days
  • Refund destination: Returned to your LABL shipping wallet

UPS

Refund available
  • Window: Within 30 days of label creation
  • Unscanned labels: Refund issued immediately
  • Scanned/used labels: No refund issued

FedEx

Conditional
  • Ground / Home Delivery: Must be canceled on or before the Ship Date
  • Already scanned: FedEx only charges for labels that are scanned and shipped
  • Multi-box shipments: Canceling one box requires canceling the entire group

DHL Express

No cancellation
  • DHL Express does not support canceling labels
  • Contact LABL Support for assistance with DHL shipment issues

Best practice: Cancel unused labels as soon as you know you won't use them. The sooner you cancel, the less likely the label has entered the carrier's system and the faster your refund will process.
